Each sphere of phenomenal Being can be divided into three complementary, logical moments: There is the ego which is the act center, the reference point relative to which the acts if defined and determined as the act that it is; then there is acts themselves which are by nature intentional: They have a center from which they emanate and an end to which they are direction. Acts are cognitive acts in the case of natural existence, such as perceiving, thinking, imagining, theorizing, philosophizing, etc. Each act in virtue of its intentional character is correlate with its intended object, its end; for instance the act of thinking is always directed at a thought; seeing is the seeing of what is seen, etc. There cannot be a seeing without there being something that is seen. Speaker: Something happens and you get angry. We are looking at that event very, very closely. Something happens and you get angry. Let us give the whole thing a shape, a name, a face. Let us say that a stranger comes to you and says that you are stupid. And he says this in front of many people. On the other hand, a friend on whom you rely, a friend whom you trust, he comes to you in front of twenty people and says you are stupid.
