Twenty-two years ago, I was a student at Greenville College, a Free Methodist Christan college in Illinois.  I was on fire with the Holy Spirit and began writing a number of essays directed to the student body.  There was a bulletin board in the campus Union, known to many on campus as the Wittenberg board.  This small 2×4′ space was named after Castle Church in Wittenberg, Germany; more specifically, the door upon which Martin Luther posted his “95 Theses” in 1517.  This act by Luther is commonly regarded as the starting point of the Protestant reformation.  Luther as well as many of his contemporaries and many before him wanted to reform the Roman Catholic Church, having seen the errors in many of its doctrines and practices – specifically, the sale of indulgences for the “remission of sins” and the papacy.   The core motivation for the reformation was…

The Life of The Disinterested Onlooker

Dwells in the void the eye of all eyes; it is the detached source of all light; it is the Disinterested Onlooker.

The Disinterested Onlooker sheds its supreme light on the pure forms and intentions of the transcendental ego, the ego that constitutes the cosmos through ideation. The light refracted from this constituting ego projects outwards into oblivion. The Disinterested Onlooker itself being essentially pure and infinite experiences its own outward projection as a finite empirical ego enclosed in an empirical expanding universe, though this is all an empty appearance playing in the void: It is not the universe that exists; it is the experience of the universe that exists.
